Brightwell Razor Marine Systemic Aquarium Surface Cleaner
Brightwell Razor Marine | Systemic Aquarium Surface Cleaner
Brightwell Razor Marine is a specialized maintenance solution designed to help you spend less time struggling with stubborn buildup on your rocks and glass. Rather than a harsh chemical "fix," Razor Marine utilizes suspended polymers to provide a systemic, long-term cleaning strategy for the modern marine aquarium.
Over time, these polymers work to loosen existing accumulations and create a surface environment that inhibits future deposits from attaching. This makes your routine scraping and vacuuming significantly more effective. Additionally, Razor Marine acts as a powerful flocculant, clumping together free-floating particulates so they can be easily captured and removed by your protein skimmer and mechanical filtration.
Key Benefits:
-
Passive Surface Cleaning: Systemically cleans aquarium decorations, rocks, and glass without the need for aggressive scrubbing.
-
Flocculation Power: Aggregates fine floating particles into larger clumps for more efficient removal via filter socks or skimmers.
-
Surface Protection: Inhibits the re-attachment of unsightly coatings, keeping your glass cleaner for longer periods.
-
Reef Safe: Formulated to be safe for marine fish, hard and soft corals, and most macro-algae when used as directed.
Instructions & "Ramp-Up" Dosing Schedule
Note: Razor Marine is slow-acting and requires a specific "ramp-up" period to allow the aquarium inhabitants to adjust. Shake well before using.
For every 50 gallons (190 L) of system volume, add the following dose into a high-flow area of the main aquarium:
-
Day 1: Add 2.5 ml
-
Day 2: Add 5 ml
-
Day 3: Add 7.5 ml
-
Day 4: Add 10 ml
-
Day 5: Add 12.5 ml
-
Day 6: Add 15 ml
Usage Tips & Safety:
-
Observe Your Livestock: While safe for most reefs, always monitor your corals and fish for signs of stress (such as corals closing and not reopening). If stress occurs, reduce or discontinue the dosage.
-
Persistence is Key: Because this is a gentle, polymer-based cleaner, it may take several applications to achieve the desired results in systems with heavy buildup.
-
Troubleshooting: If livestock reacts negatively, perform a partial water change and run activated carbon to remove the product from the water column.
